The Lord-Lieutenant, Colonel Edward Bolitho, along with the High Sheriff and a group of Deputy Lieutenants visited HMS Raleigh (TS Ramehead) on 8 July 2022.

Col Bolitho took the salute at the Passing Out Parade having inspected those on parade and presented a number of prizes. Captain Suzi Nielsen, the Commanding Officer of RALEIGH, is photographed with the group whilst on their tour of the establishment.

As well as being updated on developments in the Royal Navy and the training role of RALEIGH, the group visited many of the facilities and spoke to staff and trainees.

They were also briefed and updated by Brigadier Steve Hodder on RFCA (Reserve Forces and Cadets Association) matters.

The previous evening, Col Bolitho inspected the Sea Cadets and presented their Officer in Command, Lieutenant Jacky De Bruyne, with a commendation for meritorious service, having been in the Sea Cadets for 34 years. Pictured below from the left are Deputy Lieutenant Mike Wood, who organised the visit, his wife Judy, Mrs Alexandra Bolitho, Captain of HMS Raleigh Suzi Nielsen, and Col Bolitho, following a presentation of bouquets from the Sea Cadets.
