Statement from the Lord-Lieutenant – 22.03.2024

“As I’m sure so many of us were, I was deeply moved by the Duchess of Cornwall’s words about her illness today.  Almost everyone will know someone who has been affected by cancer and will understand the pain and anxiety it causes; it is particularly hard for the Royal Family that two of them have been struck by the disease at the same time.   However, I am full of admiration for the courage, determination and positivity of both the Duchess and the King; as ever, they are an inspiration to us all.  Treatment for this disease has come on so much in recent years and we wish them both a full and complete recovery.  They and their families should know that the love and affection of so many people in Cornwall, across the nation and around the world is right behind them, thinking about them and praying for them.”
